Hello, Thought you might like to see something I have been playing with over the past year or so. These are nymphs, but I've also used this technique for the bodies on traditional trout wet flies, and salmon flies. You can use combinations of any colour of wire. As the fly body is copper wire there is no need to add any weight unless you want an extremely heavy fly. Weaving these is easier than with floss as the wire tends to stay in shape. Also as you don't have to add weight there is no under body to "climb" over. Regards, C

Originally I was using Uni fine wires but then I found these beading wires in lots of colours. Yes I've had loads of fish on them. Though no grayling on them yet. There are none in the highlands. I've also used the technique to form the bodies on traditional wets for the lochs here. Also Salmon flies with wire woven bodies. These have also been successful Cheers, C.
