Great site Jan ,glad I found it.
I"ll be visiting Prague from Scotland in a couple of weeks are there any shops which stock your products there?
Might even get a chance to fish one day,is there any good Grayling fishing close to the city?I will not have a car so I would really need to hire a guide,so any you can recommend would be great.

Good grayling streams are Jizera (about 90 km from Prague)
the best is Vltava (150 km), I will help you with the guide, let me know what date do you like to fish.

Thanks for your reply,I will be calling into Spin and fly for a look.I have put an order through your store however its always nice to look at stuff in another country.
I would be able to fish on 10th 11th or 13th November,3 questions-

1 Will it be possible to reach the areas you mention from Prague on Train or Bus?Our hotel is in the city center .

2 Tackle,my flight only allows 20kgs luggage,I could bring waders but not much else.Could I hire tackle from a guide?

3 How much ?for a day?

Hello Collin,

I will guide you if you like, my day fee is 150 Euros, will take all fly fishing tackle for you, except waders.

Fishing is possible in the South at Vltava river or in the West at Mze River or Otava river within this upcoming weekend.
There are floods in the North on the Czech Republic now.

If you like to fish more the 1 day, I suggest Vltava river, for 1 day Mze or Otava.


If you decide to fish this weekend, please take train (better) or bus and come to Plzen early morning, I will pick-up you at the station and we will continue with my car.

The costs are:
150 EUR ... day guiding fee
100 CZK ... year state fishing license
500 CZK ... day fishing permit
if you like to to fish more days and overnight in the pension,
the price is 240 CZK/person/day for bed and breakfast

For state license, I need copy of you passport and copy of your local fishing license, fax these documents to me at 00420 373 729 686 or send scanned to my email: [e-mail] asap, thank you.
