Hi, I recently purchased some of Jan's weighted shrimp hooks, the ones with the full lead body moulded onto the hook.
Has anyone got any tips on how to prevent the dressing from sliding off either the back or front of the hook when tying your fly?
Any help would be appreciated!

Hey sewing angler
Use thread thats not to smooth, like silk, and not to thin, just 8/0,the dubbingbrushes work very good also. Make the first wraps very thight,if thats not working use a tiny drop of superglu.

Superglue + llama hairs works well on fat leaded hooks. Jan

These hooks are good for getting deep or to that perfect depth for the technique. Since you will want as slim a profile as possible I have used super glue or you can bind a thin strip of cut up surgical glove to create a more gripping surface or simply use this as an underbody and color with a marker. For competition, remember that this does not qualify as dressing and that you should incorporate other dubbing and ribbing as well AND as usual.

I was thinking about using sand paper on the lead to make the surface a little rough so the material wont slip any one has tried that??
