It is intended to imitate the spent female after diving to the bottom and laying eggs. This is the Hydropscychidae caddis we get in the Vaal River in South Africa. It is 1.5inches long excluding the antenna. I tie it with some lead underbody, latex overbody coloured with markers, wing is swiss straw (raffia), antennae are muskrat gaurd hairs.
