Hello Jan,
Wire brushes aside, what types of thread (material, color, etc.; not brands) are used in the construction of your brushes? How do you achieve the 'translucence' characteristic of them? Does thread color matter?

Kevin,
the thread is uni thread 6/0 waxed or similar, any sort of dubbing. A mixture of squirrel fur and CDC fibers works well, CDC ads the translucency, also seal fibers.
Thread color to match dubbing color or different, depending what effect do you like to create.
Try to add silver, fold long angelhair fiber belong the thread.
Use some floatant on finished thread brush (softdub), like CDC oil, CDC gel, etc.
